Ancient Coaches to Be Kept at Wayside Inn Attraction
Fred B. Morse reports Joseph Temple and I R Lemon procured two 19th century era coaches in Wellesley and transported them to the Wayside Inn. One coach carried Lafayette from Boston to Charlestown for the June 17 1825 Bunker Hill monument dedication and the other belonged to Daniel Webster used at the same event. The trio rode them from Wellesley to Sudbury, and these historic conveyances will be kept at the Inn as attractions though their frames show time’s marks.
