Sportsmen Seek Public Access to White Pond Fishing
Concord sportsmen appealed to the Harbors and Public Lands committee for legislation to authorize a Middlesex County appropriation of 1000 dollars to create a public access route to White Pond. They argued cottage owners block fishing and that the state will not stock without access. They asked for a 300 foot roadway and noted 15 to 28 inch trout stocked in the pond.

Maple Trees Here Tapped for Syrup
Marlboro residents begin tapping maple trees for syrup as producers seek a fair price of five dollars per gallon. Syrup prices are high this year, and many locals with at least a fortieth circumference trees tap for sap.
