Report notes a late assembling crowd at the Armory for a meeting led by L Pratt and Mr Andersen. The session ran about five hours past midnight with talk on Finance Committee matters and a road attorney named Francis Jugington referenced on page 4.
West Concord residents paid tribute to Lieut. Angel Mascariello of Concord and Lowell's Company C Americal Division who was killed in action January 19 1943. Full military honors were given at Our Lady Help of Christians Church with interment at St Bernard's Cemetery as town flag flew at half staff.
Concords Firemen's Relief Association announces the annual Easter Monday Firemens Concert and Ball will be held March 29 at the State Armory. Chairman Johnson says a prominent orchestra has been secured for the event.
The 21 Club of Concord plans a Saturday sale at MacRae's store on Walden Street offering homemade cakes bread candy and preserves. It begins at 12 oclock noon with a variety of bake goods and treats.
A West Concord man, John Warcreek of Crest Street, employed at Inter lake Chemical, was reported missing after a blast at the Waltham plant last Saturday night. Neighbors say local folks called Reilly to inquire about his welfare upon learning his employment there. He had worked at the Wal tham plant for about two years.
Concord local Fourth Degree members of the Bishop Cheverus Assembly plan to attend the Charity Ball. A committee meeting will be held at the Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston next Friday March 12 at 8 o'clock.
In Concord the proposed Elm Street school site and $15,000 for a new consolidated elementary school were decisively rejected by about 1,409 voters. The town meeting set a 1948 tax rate near $52.50 based on 1947 assessments, with a net budget of $589,906.43 approved after several articles were debated.
