The Concord Board of Trade held its March meeting at Wrights tavern with 50 members and guests. President Leslie O Anderson led the session. Frank W Tucker and Reed Beharrell reported finances and approved. Guest Danforth W Comins Sr addressed town warrant topics. next meeting set for April 5 at the Colonial Inn.

George Megin Died Suddenly in Watertown

George Edward Megin a West Concord merchant and active local leader died suddenly last Friday in a Watertown hospital while visiting relatives. He had lived in Concord thirteen years after moving from Templeton and owned the West Concord Laundry. Surviving are his wife Florena and son Bernard E. Megin U S Naval Reserve with a grandson, sister and other relatives. Funeral services were held at his home and he was buried at St Cecilia's Cemetery in Leominster.

Blackout in Concord Proved Successful

Concord officials announced the Sunday state wide blackout in the town went well and was believed successful. About 500 public service members were mobilized to test new uniform signals and coordinate signals during the exercise. Confusion arose when street lights came on and residents activated house lights.

Navy casualty list names Seaman Charles J. Driscoll

The Washington Navy department lists Seaman Charles J. Driscoll age 21 as wounded in action and recovering at a Southwest Pacific base hospital. A former Lowell resident and local mechanic, he is the son of Mrs Mary Campbell Driscoll of 56 Thoreau Street, Concord, and is affiliated with the same destroyer linked to Commander Charles E Tolman, reported missing last week.

Funeral services for Benjamin Blaisdell of Carlisle

Funeral services were held for Benjamin Franklin Blaisdell 72 of Carlisle at the Church of Carlisle on Sunday February 28 following his death Thursday at ECTA son Hospital Concord after a long illness. His survivors include wife Edith Maude Blaisdell a brother Edgar Blaisdell of West Acton and an uncle Arthur of Carlisle. Blaisdell served Carlisle as assessor sealer of weights and measures overseer of the poor and school committee in earlier years.

Mrs Koford Dies in Concord Hospital at 86

Mrs Milda A J Gon Koford of Westford Lisle died Wednesday morning at Emerson Tuary 27 in Carlisle. Rev Harry P Odland officiated at the funeral in the family lot cemetery. Born in Drammen Norway she was 86. She came to the United States in 1883 and married William C Koford in 1888. Survived by two sons Herman Boston Walter Chelmsford five daughters Harry Bedell Lowell Paignon Chelmsford Charles F Mara Concord Roland Wright Jr Melre and Alice W Koford several grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
