Children Are Guests at West Concord Women's Club Day
West Concord. More than sixty children from age three to teens attended the West Concord Woman's Club Children’s Day in Odd Fellows Hall. Mrs. Olive Cross performed readings and impersonations of Tom Sawyer and other favorites. The afternoon included a two-by-two march to the banquet room decorated in red white and blue with ice cream and cake. President Mrs. Ernest L. Pringle led a bylaw amendment allowing the president's term to end with the club year. The club will meet again Friday with speaker Chemical Psychologist T. Grattan Abbott and soloist Mrs. Victor A. Satloway at tea.

Maynard Chief of Police secured a warrant for Patrolman Ernest Rasmussen on a serious charge. Rasmussen appeared in district court at Concord and was held for the grand jury with bail set at 3000. A fourteen year old stepdaughter was placed in the care of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children in Boston.

Special Masses Open Lenten Season at Local Churches
Lenten observances began with Ash Wednesday services at St. Bridget's and St. Casimir's. Large crowds attended morning Masses and afternoon services, with ashes distributed after each. A Redemptorist priest will preach at St. Bridget's tonight, and Way of the Cross will be held every Friday. The Casimir mission opened last Sunday will close next Sunday.

Stow Man Purchases Mill at West Concord
Charles D Fletcher of Stow acquired the Strathmore mill of the American Woolen Company at West Concord in a private sale. the price was not disclosed. The mill had been listed for public auction yesterday but was sold beforehand in Boston. Fletcher is a successful farmer who operates a saw mill and box factory in Stow and did not say whether he would move the box factory to the mill.

Dance Event Highlights Community Spirit in Sudbury
The Wagha ton Birthday dance, hosted by the Fire Men's Association, drew many of the town’s young couples for a gala night with Wallace’s orchestra. Organizers, led by M. Concord Woman's Club Presents Four One Act Plays
The Concord Woman's Club will present four one act plays on Monday March 13 at 3 PM and again at 8 PM at the Girl Scout House under drama chairman Miss Hans W Miller. A West Concord parish reunion hosted in Association Hall last Tuesday evening featured Rev. Ernest Ford as general chairman and Miss Madeline Ryan in charge of the program from 8 to 10. Tap dancing, readings, and exhibition dancing entertained a large audience while Walter Keylor the humorist delivered impersonations. Father Shaughnessy spoke briefly, whist games and dancing followed, refreshments were served, and Mrs. Lawrence Collins led the committee. Thirty prizes were awarded for greatest skill at whist with Mrs John Sullivan winning first.

In a decisive town election the Citizens Caucus slate was swept aside as Smé th’s ally Whittemore Brown won the selectman post over Ralph G Piper 1395 to 486 amid 1954 total votes. McSweeney defeated Bowser for Municipal Light Board 1229 to 694. King edged Arthur King for road commissioner. Albertus L Dakin died at his Central Street home after a long illness. A Spanish War veteran, he served with Company I Sixth Massachusetts Infantry and fought in the Porto Rican Campaign.
