Concord committee of the United World Federalists met Monday and elected new officers Roger D Swaim secretary and treasurer with addresses on Monument street and Ridge road.

Police report three youths from Billerica were involved in a Bedford crash on Shawsheen road early Tuesday. Walter E. Bunkeny 20 of Lake Street said an approaching car blinded him at a curve, causing his vehicle to strike a tree. William Peters and the third youth, Robert M. Gaudet 19, Deerfield Street, were injured with Gaudet treated by a doctor.
Two Concord High School juniors Martin J. Coyne of 258 Main Street and Lewis Mutty of 5 Sudbury Road depart Tuesday to attend Boys State at the University of Massachusetts Amherst for ten days this summer.
Concord report shows Judge Pierre A. Northrup of the Central District Court at Concord will get a $330 raise raising his salary to $4,000. The action accompanied pay increases for several other justices with some being allowed to abandon private practices.

Radcliffe Morrill elected Concord High School principal to replace Willard Hammond Smith who resigned to lead Beverly High School. Morrill, former Wayland High principal since 1946, has taught in Brookfield and Deerfield and holds a BA from St Stephen's College and a master’s from Harvard. He is active in several education associations and serves on local boards.
Concord announces the summer playground season starting this coming Monday June 28 with Fourth of July Week activities. Activities include baseball softball croquet tennis handicrafts and more. The Concord council of Knights of Columbus announces a four day patriotic celebration and field day from July 2 to July 5 at Emerson Playground weather permitting. The event features a July 2 old timers baseball game Concord vs Maynard, a July 5 parade at 2 pm, and a grand prize Stand drawing for a 1948 Stylemaster Chevrolet sedan. James Powers and E Mara handle publicity with Grand Knight Paul L along supervising. Fireworks displays planned for July 3 and July 5, with a large volunteer committee and city officials aiding.
