Last Friday the Red Cross Bloodmobile visited Concord collecting 68 pints from 78 donors. Officials blame a combination of factors for not meeting the goal and pledge renewed effort, urging public support for future drives.
Beginning this Saturday the office will be closed Saturdays until September 6. Hours 9 am to 4 30 pm on other days. In July and August meetings will be limited to the first and third Thursdays.
Two former rectors of St Annes Episcopal Church in South Lincoln and now Episcopal Bishops received honorary degrees at the 120th ceremony. The event highlighted their long service to the church and community and marked a milestone for St Annes.
Concord Lodge of Elks dedicates a new flagpole at Percy A. Rideout Playground in West Concord during Flag Day exercises. Boy Scouts assist, featuring remarks by Judge Davide Williams and Roger C. Fenn, with flag ceremony and national anthem.
Local painting by A. F. Davis titled The Skaters displayed at the Concord Art Association in June. The scene shows three people skating on a small pond amid an early cold snap that froze it before the season’s first snowfall and before leaves fell, with houses and trees in view.

Concord resident and Jordan Marsh vice president in charge of sales Edward Jr. presented a check to Frederick E. Wallace after his painting Portrait of Mrs A. Robert Crowe won best in the 19th annual Boston art exhibition held last week.
Concord Henry P Thorpe of 21 Hubbard Street left last Thursday for Boise Idaho to join Mrs Thorpe and their daughter and family who are now residents of that city.
The Concord Council and Knights of Columbus host a four day program with a July 5 parade at 2 pm starting on main streets to be announced. Gerard J. Burke is chief marshal and John B Finigan leads parade arrangements. Floats bands civic and military units, drill teams and horribles will march in a likely three mile, two hour procession. Ancient fire fighting equipment will be featured.
