The 1928 Concord High School alumni gathered at Washoba Inn Mast Acton last Wednesday night. Forty three members attended with dinner at 7 36 pm and an entertainment program featuring President George Johnson Everett Weygant and Roy Jacobs among speakers. Dancing continued to midnight.
Registration for swimming classes at Walden Pond in Concord reaches 150 as the annual program opens this week. Jack Wallace returns as instructor with Peggy Paper and others assisting. Mrs. Madeline Gillespie directs the swimming and diving group with a large volunteer staff.
West Concord village improvement society outlines Old Home Day events to be held Saturday September 10 at the Percy A Rideout Playgrounds. No firm plans yet but a ball game band concert speeches and refreshments are possible. The committee asks residents to share names and addresses of former townspeople to notify them and asks continued cooperation for a Gala Day.
Reverend Charles R. Peck leads Trinity Church on Elm Street with Holy Communion at 8:00 a.m. and Morning Prayer and Sermon at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday June 26.
Miss Viola Nelson oversaw a Concord Music Center project of violin instruction for children at the D A R Chapter House sponsored by the Concord Musical Club. Solo and duet numbers were performed by Claire Kent Annie Arkin Walter Magurn John Winnegan Anna de Salvatore Russell MacClure Philip Recto Jane Servais Susanne Servais Betty Park and Kenneth Peterson with Marjorie Williams and Elizabeth Recco as accompanists and Miss Pearson assisting in the ensemble piece.
Miss Alice Claire Healy daughter of Mr and Mrs Thomas J Healy of 55 Lexington Road married Richard Philip Sullivan of Brockton in a ten o clock morning ceremony at St Bernard’s Church Concord Pastor Rev William Finnick officiated Miss Carmel Elizabeth Healy was maid of honor and sisters Mary and Rita Healy were bridesmaids Best man was J Sullivan brother of the groom with ushers Lewis Sullivan Edward McCaffrey Robert Ferran and Thomas Lyon A reception followed at the bride’s home
Funeral services for Mrs J H Loftus of Concord were held at St Bernard's Church with burial in St Bernard's Cemetery. The 80 year old native of Concord died Tuesday after a long illness. She once operated as a professional dressmaker and is survived by a brother and two sisters.
Four new nurses complete a probationary period with the Household Nursing Association and arrive at Emerson Hospital in Boston to train under actual hospital conditions. The trainees are Miss Alberta Cochrane of Hyannis Miss Elsie Fowler of Newburyport Miss Irene Pitt of Jamaica Plain and Miss Wanda Unda of Norwood.
A class of 25 including Concord and Acton firemen completed a first aid course under the Concord Chapter of the American Red Cross. Mrs. Leonard Smith scored 98 percent the highest, and was named a director of first aid for the coming year.
Charles H. Mason appeared at the Concord District Courthouse by order to answer a labor department charge of non payment of wages to former employee George W. Laury, a linotype operator. After a hearing, Mason agreed to pay five dollars weekly to clear a delinquency of 96.75 and was warned that late payments could lead to contempt.
Mr and Mrs Walter S Wood longtime Concord residents observed their golden wedding anniversary Monday evening with an informal reception for relatives in the vestry of the Parish Church at nine. o'clock. Mr Wood lives at 26 Hubs and they have five children.
A class of 23 received diplomas at Middlesat School graduation exercises led by Head Master Frederick Windsor. Nine states are represented among the class, including Massachusetts. Senator Henry Cabot Lodge, a 1920 graduate, was the principal speaker with introduction by Cameron Forbes of the school’s press board of trustees.
The Concord Police Department uses a red tag system for non criminal violations. Each tag marks a violation and requires reporting to a clerk of the District Court or to the police station. Penalties escalate from first offense to a final offense with fines and mandatory judge reporting.
Concord report notes the death of William Anthony Faversham, five, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Faversham Jr. He died at his grandparents home after months battling leukemia. Survived by sister Julie and brother Philip. Private funeral held.

Otis M. Whitney announced his candidacy for reelection to the Massachusetts House of Representatives. He has served on the Mercantile Affairs and State Administration committees and plans to work to support the Republican ticket in Massachusetts and Middlesex County.
Otis M. Whitney denies supporting a new two million dollar state prison in Concord. He says he opposes a Concord prison and prefers the Deer Island plan, urging the Concord Enterprise to print his letter correcting the record.
Manager John Todd of the Lincoln Mohawks hopes to play a Paul Revere League contest against Concord Town Sunday. Earlier he agreed to face Concord in talks with Rudy Currier, manager of the champions.
The Concord Board of Selectmen held a brief evening session on Tuesday focusing on minor issues. It was announced the board will meet again next Tuesday.

Funeral services held for Mrs Caroline Benson at Ball's Hill road home. She died Thursday at Emerson hospital from a broken hip complicated by pneumonia after a fall. Survived by three sisters, six daughters, and one son. Interred after services conducted by Rev Benjamin Wilmott of Epworth Congregational Church.
Concord High School seniors of the class of 1933 took an informal four day outing to Canobie Lake New Hampshire instead of a planned picnic. Led by David Kent and Ann Nelson the 109 graduates appeared at Class Day exercises in the high school auditorium and heard the class history and prophecies.
