Members of the Holy Name societies of St Bernard s church Concord and Our Lady Help of Christians West Concord will join in the mammoth outdoor Holy Hour at Lowell Memorial Stadium on Thursday night June 29 at 8 o clock Transportation locally will be by buses and private cars with men in charge of their spiritual advisers and presidents
The Concord Garden Club hosted the East Middlesex Region of the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts yesterday. Members toured Concord gardens and shared a luncheon at the home of Mrs. George W. Greenlaw in Lexington read, hosted by Concord club.

New officers elected include President Dr. Adams and Vice President Mrs. Caleb H Wheeler. The society began in 1941 in Concord to honor Henry David Thoreau born July 12 1817 who died May 6 1862. his grave rests in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.

The first of summer union services for Protestant churches will be held next Sunday June 25 at 9 30 at the West Concord Union Church. Rev Edwin B Nylen will lead the service with involvement from all local Protestant churches each Sunday at 9 30.
The Concord Visiting Nurse Association held its quarterly board meeting on June 14 with Dr. Stanton Garfield presiding. The budget for 1950 was the main topic, and the nursing committee noted May 18 visits by Dr. Kelley announcing future state supply of diphtheria tetanus and pertussis toxoids.
Several more students from William J. Bulger Jr driver education class at Concord High School earned licenses in tests by Inspector Mello of the Registry of Motor Vehicles. The successful names include Christina Camougis Lesley Crowson Diane Davidson Margaret Flynn Ruth Johansen Ann Leisch David Loring Constance Moszka Marion O Connor Jeanne Periis Mary Sepe Audrey Shepard and Walter Stephanson Jr.
West Concord and Miss Alice J Morse of 6 Pond Lane resigns as summer playground instructor to pursue summer school. Patricia Fletcher of 26 Riversoe Avenue West Concord is named her replacement by the Concord Recreation Commission.
Selectman Edward W. Sheehan and Samuel G. Kent lead a civic effort inviting Lions Rotary K of C Sons of Italy Corinthian Lodge Concord Woman’s Club League of Women Voters James J. Mansfield Post VFW and others. School leaders and local clergy were urged to attend the meeting as organizers seek broad town backing for the event.
Concord and West Concord youths from Comer to 12 are invited to a new Playground Course opening next Monday at 9 30. The Concord Recreation shon lists events including picnics excursions ball games baseball trips sports handicraft dancing and swimming for the coming program through June 26.
