Concord Tragedy Two Drownings In Same Day
Two youths drown in Concord on the same day. Five and one half year old Francis York of Main Street died after tumbling into the Sudbury River near the South Bridge boathouse. Ivan Gorman, 18, of Belmont, a Belmont High graduate, perished in Thoreau's Cove while swimming with friends. Rescue efforts and medical examiners confirmed both deaths. Funeral services for York were held at Joseph Dee and Sons.

Concord notices the death of Mrs Marcia Louise Sheldon Viles of Lexington after a long illness. Born Fitchburg July 23, 1881 she lived in Lexington 27 years and was widow of Edgar Francis Wiles. Survived by three sons Sheldon Daniel Lyman and daughter Mrs Robert Watt and three grandchildren. Lyman attends University of Washington. Watt and family reside in Seattle. Funeral from the late home Monday afternoon with burial in Waltham.
