A crowded week unfolds with the senior class recognition, plans for a 40th annual town meeting, and a political scene stirring in Concord and Acton. Lexington and Boxborough prepare notes on zoning and town services as summer events and commemorations fill the community schedule.
Acton selectmen voted to send a letter to local contractor George Andreson warning against burning on the school lot in Acton Center and set a June 26 cleanup deadline. They issued a Class 1 auto dealer license to A. & M. Motor Co. and approved Belanger & Son to rename to Belanger's Auto Sales with a Class 2 license. They granted Brand Rex Division permission to store 6,200 gallons of naphtha underground on Hayward Road and moved George L. Hanselpacker’s Class 2 used car license from 274 to 289 Great Road. The board met with Acton Memorial Library trustees regarding the West Acton branch.
Acton Nancy Kimball daughter of Mr and Mrs John A C Kimball of 267 Great Road completed studies at Burdett College Boston and received her diploma at graduation exercises held Friday in John Hancock Hall. She studied in the school of secretarial science and was an executive secretarial major.
Acton Republican Town Committee meets to instruct delegates for the state convention. Delegates elected include Mrs. Stanley A. Nedza Charles M. MacRae John Petlason and Norman R. Veentra. The affair to be held in Worcester Saturday.
Under the TriCon committee of the Trinitarian Congregational Church woman’s union a bridge brunch is set for June 20 at Wright Tavern. Play begins 9:30 a.m. brunch served 11:30 a.m. Table prizes awarded. Reservations through circle chairmen or Mrs Eugene Hayt phone EM 94198. Mrs Gordon Ogilvie is general chairman.

The Capt. Isaac Davis Chapter D A R will hold a ceremony tonight at seven at the center common. Scrolls will be awarded to the 686 people who re enacted the historic Isaac Davis trail to Concord on April 19. Invited are local organizations, selectmen, scouts, and others with special music planned. committee is led by Mrs. Robert Hunt of Worcester.
Concord Elks Lodge led by Exalted Ruler Deep Dee calls community to Flag Day observance at Emerson Playground this evening at 6 with Dr Francis C McDonald delivering the oration. Concord Carlisle High Band and American Legion color guard participate. Scouts display every adopted flag. rain moves to the state armory.
Concord Six local delegates to the Republican state primary convention in Worcester are Rep John M. Eaton Jr. State Committeeman Alexander Elis Jr. G Sherman Blair Jr. Mrs Isabelle Bushnell Precinct Chairman C Waldo MacWilliams Richard L Wiggin II president of the Young Republican Club. Delegates will vote individually rather than as a unit.
Concord student and Williamstown classmate tie for the second prize in the Benedict competition for excellence in mathematics. The report notes the sophomore from Williams College and his reader from Concord sharing the spot.

The Concord State Department of Public Utilities reports that the B and M Railroad and New Haven Railroad request for automatic gates at Commonwealth Avenue West Concord crossing has been granted. The gates will protect pedestrians and motorists and must be installed by December 31.
Six bidders ranged from 11 985 to 14 960 with Maxim Motor Co. Middleborough winning at 14 020 for a 500 gal Class A pumper to replace a 1945 International. Delivery promised in 120 working days after review found in the town's best interests.
