On June 5 a luncheon at Mrs. Henry Kidder’s home honored Dr Gisela Naunin of Munster Germany. The visitor, a lawyer focusing on women’s equal rights, toured Concord via the Fenn School Alcott School Emerson Hospital and Conantum with League of Women Voters members guiding. Her three month study aims to observe women’s roles in public life in the U.S.
Concord announces Elaine Hardie a Fulbright exchange teacher for 1953 1954. She has taught French and English at Concord High School since 1946 and will teach at Girls Lycee Rouen France next year. Bernard LeFevre of Le Havre replaces her at Concord High School teaching French.
Senator John F. Kennedy responds to the League of Women Voters letter on United Nations funding. He supports paying the United States share and endorses an adequate appropriation for world peace, expressing readiness to back the nation's fair contribution.
Concord The Central District Court of Middlesex County in Concord marks its 80th year this year after a 79th birthday last Monday. The court serves Concord Acton Bedford Lexington Lincoln Carlisle Maynard and Stow. Over 79 years it has had four presiding justices led by John S. Keyes Prescott Keyes Howard A. Wilson Pierre A. Northrup.
Concord couple Mr and Mrs James O McDonough announce the birth of their third child and second son Stewart Alan McDonough on June 2 at Mount Auburn Hospital Cambridge. Grandparents are Mr and Mrs Alexander McDonough of Omaha Nebraska and Mrs Irving Poole of Carlisle. Mrs McDonough is Rosamond Poole formerly of Carlisle.

Treasurer Concord-Julian W. Ballou reports 230 members in the Middlesex Institution for Savings tax and vacation club, which paid out $23,293 in 1953, a similar membership to 1952 with a larger payout. The new club is now open.
