Main Street Citizens Lodge Complaint About Speed and Sidewalks
West Concord residents along Route 62 Main street petitioned the Concord board of selectmen signed by about 60 locals. They cite excessive speeding by pleasure and commercial vehicles, the lack of sidewalks and safety signs, and say a prior April 23 police report did not resolve the danger to children and pedestrians.

Memorial Exercises Honor Dead Of All Wars In Concord
Veterans from Spanish American to Korean gathered at four local burial grounds with markers decorated. A parade moved along Main Street to Mill Dam and Hill Burial Ground with a marching salute and the 23rd Infantry Band. Speakers at St Bernard's and Sleepy Hollow cemeteries addressed the crowd as color guards, scouts, and veterans marched. John F. Donovan read roll calls of the wars as a retreat, flag lowered, and the procession returned to Monument Square.

Boston Man Breaks Leg Fishing At Walden Pond
William Mason, about 45, of 317 Meridian Street East Boston, broke his leg while fishing near the Walden Pond bank. He and his nine year old son rowed him across to Walden Street side for an ambulance to Emerson Hospital. Ambulance team led by Chief Harry A Patterson with Firemen Daniel Teabo and James H Myette. Local Man Drowns on Maine Fishing Trip
Cameron and Hogan traveled from Bedford to Lincoln County Maine for a fishing trip. Their canoe tipped, Hogan died and Cameron searched for him before the body was found hours later. Hogan, born in Ireland, lived in Concord most of his life and belonged to local clubs. A solemn high mass was held at St Bernard's Church before burial at St Bernard's Cemetery.
