A sedan owned by Peter Far Grafton ran onto the railroad crossing at West Acton as the Montreal express approached. Hurley 21 and sister Miss Hurley plus two brothers escaped uninjured after passengers jumped clear. The accelerator reportedly stuck as the car moved onto the tracks, the train struck the vehicle, narrowly missing a fatal crash near Marlboro depot. The crossing, a noted danger point, has seen prior near fatalities.

Arthur C. Anderson a Concord Municipal Light Plant worker died Monday after touching a 2300 volt live wire while atop a Sudbury road pole near Heath Bridge. Born February 8 1895 in Bedford he was WWI veteran and member of James J Mansfield Post American Legion Trinitarian Congregational Church. Burial Thursday at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery with full military honors. survived by wife Gerda and son Arthur plus sister Dilen Peterson of Maynard.

Two Concord Men Hurt In Auto Truck Crash
Two Concord men were injured in a late Monday crash on Bedford street at Court Lane. James B. Finan Jr. a special officer, drove a truck that collided with Joseph Barbaro who was entering Bedford street from Court Lane. The impact forced the truck into a tree. Barbaro suffered a broken left hand and Finan injured his back.

Bedford on July 30 reports Chevrole coupe owner and operator Sapieha of Newport NH lost control on road at Holmes Street. He attempted to pass a bus and stepped on the gas causing a crash. Passenger Vincent Desimore of Roxbury aged 45 was injured and taken to Symmes Hospital for treatment.
