William Delaney Maynard returns to Florida in improved health. Miss Mary Sweeney visits her uncle William Rouse in Pepperell. John Roach of Wakefield spends time with Geo H Creighton. John Mara takes a week vacation from Walcott Holden. Funeral in Waltham. Several travel plans and local social notes. Mary Waldron and Arthur Wright wed at a church residence in Maynard. They plan a four week Bangor trip then residence in Maynard.
A pleasant party honored Dr F A Rich on his forty fifth birthday at his Summer Street residence. Guests included Lieuts 5 Pacaged and E H Rich of the police, Mrs T P Wiggin, physicians Mixter Potter Johnson Crockett Martin of Boston, Mrs William T Squares of Hartford, Miss Eshma Wilder of Brookline, W T Linehan of Brookline, General Manager Hunter of Hunter Mfg Co and Mrs Charles Hunter. Music readings and phonograph selections filled the afternoon and evening, followed by dinner served by Mrs Rich. The guests departed by a late Concord Junction train. The event was noted as one of the smartest social affairs in years.
Local notes report Pilgrim Mill starting up at East Acton on Saturday and Concord Junction baseball club ending its season due to lack of support. Several residents travel to nearby towns, visitors greet family, and community events include tubed mail safety reminders, a Cat City and Martha's Vineyard excursion, and a charity dance in Stow.
Concord K of C baseball team will meet the Newboro Council at Fitchburg Saturday. Abbie M. Sauers is connected with the scene and a mention of tires and Diamond Tire agent P. W. White appears amid scattered notices and a cash order route by H. H. Young from Concord Junction.
The Concord K of C ball team lost Saturday to the Marions of Brighton in a quirky nine innings game. Powers on the mound pitched well despite poor support. Bill Dee and Mark Mara sparked the offense with timely hits and Mara also made a running catch. Next Saturday the K of C travel to Fitchburg with Pas likely to return to play.
