Mrs Florio 37 Dies After Long Illness
Concord funeral services were largely attended last Friday for Mrs Filomena Florio 37 wife of Luigi Florio 37 of Belknap Street who died Tuesday July 6 at Emerson Hospital after a long illness. Services from her home followed by a requiem high mass at St Bernard's Church were conducted by Rev Walton Quinlan with two priests assisting. Burial was at St Bernard's Cemetery. She was born in Italy June 1 1906 and had lived in Concord four years. Besides her husband she leaves a son and a daughter.

The Happy Go Lucky Club met at Mrs. Ralph Howe's Lowell road home at 8 p m. President Gordon Oisem presided and the group later toured the garden for a hill demonstration by the club leader and Philip Ackerman. They studied weeds, played Black Magic, and concluded at 4 55 with a flag salute and America. Betty Howe vice president and Janet Ackerman secretary are at 4 H Camp Middlesex in Ashby for one week.

Girl Burned in Home Fire at Elm Street
Firemen at Central Station averted two serious blazes last week. A fire at 22 Elm Street injured Patience Hosmer slightly when she opened the cellar door and smoke burst forth. Damage estimated between 500 and 1,000 dollars with most risk to cellar area. A separate blaze at Finigan Walden Street started from rubbish and brush. the house was only lightly scorched. Concord Fire Department answered farms this year, seven fewer than all of 1942.
