Last Rites For Concordian Death Of Dr Edward Emerson
Dr Edward Waldo Emerson, son and literary executor of Ralph Waldo Emerson, died Monday at his Concord home from pneumonia. Born July 3, 1844, he was Harvard educated, practiced in Concord, wrote and painted, taught at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and edited Emerson works after Eliot Cabot. He served on Concord committees and supported local philanthropy. He is survived by his son Raymond, seven grandchildren, and nephews. Funeral services were held this afternoon at First Parish Meets House with burial in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
