Schaal Receives Army Discharge Plans Harvard Return
Concord-Corp. Richard Schaal, U S Army, has been discharged after serving overseas in Northern France Belgium Holland and Germany. He earned the ETO ribbon and the Combat Infantryman badge with three stars and expects to resume his Harvard College studies after freshman year abroad. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Albert A Schaal of South Lincoln, with his father on the Concord Draft Board and his mother a former Concord Woman's club president now district director.

Funeral in Free Church Concord for Martha Moen 82
Funeral services were largely attended Monday afternoon at the Evangelical Free Church in Concord for Mrs. Martha Moen 82 widow of the late Christian Thoresen who died Friday at Strawberry Hill Road. Rev Harry P Odland officiated. Mrs Moen born in Romedal Norway November 8 1863 came to the United States in 1882 and lived in Concord the last 25 years. She is survived by five sons Arthur Thomas and Henry Concord Carl West Concord Edwin Texas two daughters Mrs Purinton West Concord and Raymond Hopkinson Billerica 22 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren with many in the armed forces.
