Four Concord Girls Return to Mt Ida College Senior Year
Four Concord High School graduates return to Mount Ida Junior College Newton for the second semester of their senior year. Florence Prendergast of West Concord attends the labor atory technician course and is active in sports student government and Newman clubs. Mary Pierce of Baker Avenue participates in liberal arts and Mt Ida clubs including horseback riding and swimming. Virginia Manter of 228 Main Street majors in aviation and is active in riding swimming and cheerleading. Jean Hunt of Hubbard Street is a Rainbow Girl and participates in glee club and Concord High festival activities. All four plan to graduate from Mt Ida in June.

Concord Police Chief William G. Ryan reports 142 arrests in 1947, up from 111 in 1946, with 55 drunkenness cases and 91 motor vehicle violations. Of 182 total arrests, 174 were male and nine female.
