Frances Mangano, 49, wife of Samuel Ihato of 7 Pleasant Street Concord, died after a long illness. A high mass was led by Rev. W Scollan at Our Lady of Christians Church. Interment was at Bernard’s Cemetery. She was born April 16 1910 in Concord and West Medford and had lived here 21 years. She leaves husband two daughters Antoinette and Mamie at home and sisters Mrs Alfred Can tidge and Mrs Salvatore Alessi of Concord. Brothers Frank and Joseph Mangano and Salvator Mangano of New York also survive.

Concord Brothers Austen And Charles Riggs Feared Drowned
The bodies of Austen and Charles Riggs were recovered within a half hour of each other after an ice accident on the river. Firemen policemen and volunteers searched for five hours with Acton rescue crews joining later. Charles was first recovered near the ice and Austen downstream near the pumping station. Their mother learned of the tragedy from a playmate aged 6 who ran to the Riggs home. The boys played on the Academy grounds with a cart when they were drawn to the river ice. The Riggs family dog Bill reportedly refused to come to the water. Dr. O Lawrence Clark medical examiner ruled drowning and the bodies were taken to Joseph Dee & Son funeral home.
