Maynard George Turner of Wo burn and Lewis DeRose of Boston, both 17, escaped from Sibrrey Industrial School Monday afternoon at 5 45. They stole Em Manuel Nelsons car on Waltham Street and were chased by Patrolman Henry Piecewicz, who fired four shots in the air before halting the fleeing vehicle near the Ancon Powder Company office in Acton. Shirley Industrial School officials were notified and the youths were held in Maynard and to appear in Concord district court next morning charged with the theft.

Firefighters from both ends of West Concord responded to a house fire at 5 Central Street the residence of Michael J. Wrenn.
