Whether idle acres face weeds or erosion depends on farmers willingness to plant legume crops such as clover alfalfa and brome this year. The agency notes a record pig crop in 1250 with first pigs reaching market in the coming winter or early spring and a 10 percent price support reduction anticipated beyond March.
