Brown Tail Moth Threatens City Trees and Foliage
A public talk by A. J. H. Kirkland of Boston, arranged by Mayor Parsons, warned residents of the brown tail moth endangering trees and shrubs. The talk covered origin, spread from Cambridge to New Hampshire and Maine, lifecycle, and the urgent need to destroy nests by March 10. The program linked the brown tail moth to the gypsy moth threat and urged tree cleaning and ready pruning tools for ward crews.
