Legion Post to Handle Burial of Lieut Parker
Lieut Whipple H Parker who died from wounds received in the Argonne on Oct 19 1918 has arrived in Hoboken NJ and will be sent to his home for a military funeral at the State Armory here likely late this week. James J Mansfield Post American Legion, of which Parker was an honorary member, will conduct the service. Parker served overseas with Company G 216th Infantry 79th Division AEF.

Fire at Smokeless Powder Plant Causes Large Loss
A morning blaze at the Smokeless Powder plant of the American Powder Company started in the storehouse and boiler room. Fire departments from Concord and Hudgon responded with a pump set up at the river to fight the flames. The property loss is large but not yet estimated.
