Townwide Christmas observance fills homes with glow and outside lights. Community tree at Memorial Park centers carol singing led by church choirs amid multiple Masses and services across St. Bridget’s, St. Casmir’s, St. George’s, Methodist and Finnish Congregational churches with elaborate music programs and White Gift events.

Immunity Celebration in Concord Christmas carolers brighten town

Carolers toured Concord on Christmas Eve visiting the Home for the Aged Emerson Hospital and the Deaconess Home of Aged Women. Electric lights and red green decor illuminated main streets as trees and porch lights glowed. The Acton High School junior class hosted a successful Christmas dance with music by the Swanee Actonians and strong student turnout.

Hart Golden Anniversary Celebrated by Maynard Residents

Mr and Mrs George H Hart marked their 50th wedding anniversary at 36 Walnut Street Maynard on Christmas Day joined by three children Arthur Hart New London CT Mrs Albert Larkin Maynard and Mrs Herbert Estabrook Hudson plus fourteen grandchildren. The couple married in Manchester NH December 25 1877 and have lived in Maynard since 1882.

Nativity Pageant Presented by First Parish Children

Concord December 28 The Nativity was portrayed in a pageant by the older children of the Sunday School of the First Parish in the vestry of the Meeting House. Cast included Elizabeth Bosley Margaret Smith Richard Wheeler Bradford Robinson Stephen Crick Russell Smith Eric Smith and Whitney Cook. Elizabeth Johnson oversaw. The Sunday School Christmas party and tree followed.

Wildey Night Observed by Maynard Lodge Honors Thomas Wildey

Maynard Lodge hosts Wildey Night on January 18 in honor of Thomas Wildey founder of the Order. An out of town lodge provides entertainment and a special recognition of older members. A visitation by the grand master and grand board of parGlue will occur February 1.

Christmas Party at Eaton Hall High School Concord

Americanization classes held a largely attended Christmas party at Eaton Hall High School in Concord. Miss Emma Clahane directed the eight grade pupils from Peter Bulkeley School in a play and musical numbers. A nativity tableau, songs, and a Christmas tree followed with dancing and refreshments provided by the Concord Woman's Club.

Vermont Red Cross appeals for flood relief funds

A December 1927 letter from J P Galleher, chairman of the Vermont Red Cross, thanks Mrs. Litchfield for aid to flooded districts. It notes ample clothing on hand but requests monetary donations for flood relief and mentions Governor John E Weeks endorsing the appeal. A check from Mrs. Litchfield’s Maynard Red Cross is promised by January 1.

Sudbury Village Homes Gleam With Electric Lights

In Sudbury many village houses were attractively lit with electric lights during a festive evening, creating a bright display as residents enjoyed the illumination on the night. The scene captures a communal celebration of local electricity adoption and neighborhood pride.

Maynard High School Celebrates Dual Holiday Parties

About 175 freshmen and sophomores held a Christmas party in the auditorium with a large evergreen tree, gifts under ten cents, and candy. Santa handed out presents while Principal Furber received a desk clock. The following evening juniors and seniors held another party with gifts, ice cream, and dancing, ending at eleven o'clock.

Pups of Concord Jct Enjoy Christmas Party at Harvey Wheeler

Four hundred pupils from Harvey Wheeler and West Concord Schools gathered Friday at the Harvey Wheeler School assembly hall for a Christmas party. Principal Chittim led the program with grade teachers assistance. The event featured a large decorated tree and candy bags for each child, plus songs recitations and Act 2 of the Birds Christmas Carol by Miss Reynolds eighth grade class.

Pilgrim Club Hosts Weston Dance for Roland Cutter Guests

The Pilgrim Club in Weston entertained guests Roland Cutter Isadore Cutter Philip Way Nancy Way and Barbara Way at their Friday dance. The Mem ney church presented the Pageant of Christmas on Christmas night to a large appreciative audience.

Last Rites for N Ellis Richardson in Concord

N Ellis Richardson longtime Concord resident died suddenly while skating on Tower's Pond in high winds. He was born November 26 1893 in Concord and lived in Lexington with his sister before his death. He served in the U S Navy in World War I and worked for Old Colony Trust Boston and Remington Rand in Boston. He leaves two brothers Malcolm and Robert and a sister. Funeral services were held at his sister's home in Lexington conducted by Rev Slocomb.

Yuletide Revels In Merrie England at Veterans Building

Five centuries of Christmas customs and music are depicted by Concord High School pupils under Miss Gertrude Rideout. The staged sequences show a fifteenth century manor hall with Lord of the Manor, Mummers, Saint George, and Father Christmas. The High School Orchestra under Mr. Hudspeth provides the score as students receive flowers. Harry Dee stood in briefly as Father Christmas.
