John J. Henderson aged 71, former Southboro board of selectmen member and former superintendent of the Cordaville Woolen Mill, died in Lowell. Funeral in Lowell with burial in Hyde Park Fairview Cemetery. Survived by wife and children Robert Yoseph Amante Evelyn Henderson and two sisters Nellie and Margaret Henderson. He spent 25 years in Southboro and moved to Lowell 15 years ago.

Auxiliary Sale Supports Disabled WWI Veterans in Concord
The Woman's Auxiliary of James J Mansfield Post American Legion met at the Veteran's building and voted to send a gold piece as a Christmas gift to each disabled World War I veteran in Concord. Miss Eugenie Marie Foss reported that a sale at the Colonial Inn netted more than $400, the largest amount ever raised by the group. Foss spoke on the Second Expeditionary Force's plane flight Bourget Field in France to Croydon Field in England and described a ten day motor trip through Ireland.

The Concord Branch of the Grenfell association held its second annual meeting at the West Concord Union Church. Fire of Raves Blok Blamed For Major Silvee Block Blaze
A Friday morning fire in the Silvee block at Main and Nason streets caused extensive damage to six of nine stores. Harold Rasmussen and Harold Hanson spotted flames in the cellar, with the blaze spreading rapidly and an estimated loss of over 80 000. The E B Gray and J J Newberry buildings suffered heavy smoke and stock losses while merchants carried insurance. Fire Chief Frank Parks credited the department for containing the fire to the originating block after a four hour battle.
