Home From Hospital After Baker Bridge Accident

Albert Batley returned from Waltham hospital Monday noon in comfortable condition after a compound leg fracture a dislocated thigh and head injuries. Mrs Batley had her injured leg amputated Saturday and is holding her own despite a remarkable recovery progress noted by Mass hospital staff.

Christmas Socials and Visits In Acton Centre

Miss Sara A. Wood is suffering with the mumps. Mrs C C G Dole of Cambridge was in town last week. Mrs H D Brown has gone to Water Town for a few weeks. Mrs A H Laker spent Monday with Mr and Mrs F D Morse. Dr J C Monroe and family spent Christmas in their home in Acton. George Tuttle of New York is at his father's home for the holiday season. Dr and Mrs F J Barker and Howard Daniels spent Christmas in Pittsfield. Misses Sophia Taylor and Flora Reed are home from college for the holidays. The Christmas ball Monday night drew about 50 couples and was a social success. The Christmas tree and entertainment at the church Saturday evening was enjoyed by all, with Old Santa delighting the children.

The holiday social event was the wedding of Shirley Kendric Kerns and Jeenie Noyes Richardson in Concord. Rev. Benjamin R. Bulkeley officiated. attendants included Joseph S.
