The Norwegian government awarded Horace Upton Gade the Knight's Cross First Class of the Royal Order of St Olavs at a Union Club luncheon yesterday. A native of Cambridge, he spent his youth in Norway and later lived in Detroit where he was Norwegian vice consul. he also served as American vice consul before World War I and has long resided on Simon Willard Road in Concord.
