The West Concord Union Church filled Wednesday evening for the sixtieth wedding anniversary of a longtime couple. The ceremony featured the church choir, a dais for the honored pair, and a basket of sixty silver dollars presented by community members through Virginia Manter. Joseph G Piecewicz husband of Mrs Antonina Piecewicz of Railroad Street Maynard died after a short illness. Born in Poland he lived in Maynard 32 years and worked as a wet finisher at Assabet Mills before retiring. Survived by wife two sons John and Joseph two daughters Frances and Veronica and two grandchildren. Funeral from his home Monday at 8 15 am to St Casimir Church for mass and vespers with interment at St Bridget's Cemetery.

Ann A Leyden an longtime resident of the town died last Saturday at her daughter Mary Prue’s home after a long illness. Born in Ireland she lived here about 60 years and is survived by three daughters Mrs Prue Mrs Albert Kopf and Mrs Peter Lesage of Albany five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday from the daughter’s home with a requiem mass at St Bridgets church at 10 a.m. Burial was in St Bridgets cemetery.
Concords Grenfell Night at the Trinity Congregational parish house featured Prof F C Sears as guest speaker. Cabot presided with Rev Charles Russell Peck delivering opening prayer. Miss Barker sang violin numbers and local reports were read alongside a Labrador Hospital connection update.

South Acton resident Edgar Irving Banks died at Emerson Hospital in Concord after several weeks illness. He worked 19 years at Frank B. Lothrop Company in town and earlier for A. Merriam Co. in South Acton and Meriden. He was a charter member and officer of the South Acton Congregational Church. Survived by daughters Nellie and Anna, brothers John and Daniel, and sisters Mrs Sarah A LaDue and Mrs Dora E Y. Funeral at River Street home officiated by Rev Arthur Becket with committal at Mount Hope Cemetery.
