Mrs Albert F Larsen of Bedford announces the birth of her second son named Rick. The Bedford PTA meets next Tuesday December 16 with a speaker from the education department and the Motor Vehicles Bureau scheduled to attend. Hong Kong stamps to honor Queen Elizabeth II

Hong Kong will issue a special commemorative stamp on June 2, 1953 for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The 10 cent stamp will match other colonial issues in design and will not replace all stamps bearing King George VI’s portrait by coronation day.

Mrs Lela Buzzell hosted the Women’s Missionary Society of the port church yesterday afternoon at her Clinton Street home. Dessert was served before a meeting presided by Mrs Jean Wright.

Feast of the Immaculate Conception Observed at St. Michael's

The Feast of the Immaculate Conception was observed at St. Michael's church on Monday with Holy Day masses. Airman S Finley Jones Jr of Crescent avenue recently returned to duty with the U S Air Force at Griffiss Air Base Rome New York after a holiday furlough at his parents home. His brother Airman 3 c Winslow D Jones is now in Greenland on duty. He is a Concord high school graduate.

Dessert Bridge Party Honors Hartwell Homemaker

Mrs. Irvin M. Puffer of Hartwell road hosted the 1940 Club at a dessert board party last Thursday afternoon. Prize winners were Mrs. Edwin F. Qua and Mrs. Earl S. Atwood, and the hostess received a shower of gifts in honor of her birthday.

Total raised in the Jun ior Red Cross appeal reached 45.34 dollars in Bedford. The Bedford Civil Defense Agency will open Fridays 8 to 9 PM for on site assistance. United Workers of the Church of Christ hosted an air day sewing program for Emerson Hospital led by Mrs. Howard F. Davis. Lunch was served by Mrs. Edward F. Pike and Mrs. Earl B. Atwood. The devotional service was led by Mrs. Marvin L. By. Mrs. Pike presided at the business session. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Martin celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on December 1. They reside in Bedford since 1028. Mr. Martin works at the Veterans Hospital. They have one daughter, Virginia. The Ball & Chain Club staged a dance at Mr. and Mrs. Abbott Reed Webber’s Maple Street home, with reservations handled by Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Manning. Mrs. Allan Maier hosted the first year’s series of preschool parents meetings on North road, featuring Miss Priscilla Dunn.

Concord 4-H Clover Club elects officers and sets topics

The Concord The 4 H Clover club held a Saturday meeting electing Richard Halloran as president James Ring as vice president Robert Moran as secretary and Fred Oliver Jr as treasurer. Motion pictures of the fair were shown and topics for the next meeting were announced including 4 H Garden Requirements How to Prevent Fires and Recreation. The next meeting is January 10 at Fred Oliver Sr home 525 Main Street West Concord.
