A fatal accident occurred Wednesday noon on Rothwell Street involving a bicycle and a truck. A passerby found the youth dead on the road as investigators noted the vehicle left the scene and may have been involved.
Concord representative David B. Williams elected president of the Concord Board of Trade for 1953 at the annual meeting and dinner in West Concord. About 60 members attended. officers elected include Thomas J. Byron as vice president and Laurence F. Petersen as recording secretary. Committees reviewed minutes and reports. funds were set for United Nations, regional Christmas party, and football banquet.
West Concord sees six officers depart and four new faces arrive after state police transfers and promotions. Sgt Jeremiah G Murphy moves to Troop C in Athol, while Cpl James He promoted to sergeant in Troop A out of Framingham. Americans buy canned meats at a record rate.
Concord firefighters reported 223 alarms handled so far, up from 167 for all of 1951. Only one alarm, a sill incident, was sounded over the recent weekend, according to firemen.

Weston resident C Vernon Mac Leod, 49, of 75A Warren Avenue, Weston, had his Concord District Court case continued after an arraignment on November 17 for driving under the influence. The case follows a November 15 two car collision at Route 2 and Sudbury Road that left five people injured, including him.
