Mr. and Mrs. Walter Taylor visited her parents Mr. and Mrs. James Lawrence. Lillian Perry left Allen's Chair factory for Blaine factory. Carl Hayes underwent appendicitis surgery at Deaconess hospital this week. Frank Walker and family toured Maine and New Hampshire by auto. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Burroughs spent the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Chapman. Mrs. David Ball, Mrs. John Chapman and Miss Mary Curry visited Mrs. Carl Burroughs at Somerville. Mr. and Mrs. John Sylvester and daughters Ellen and Dorothy stayed with relatives in Boston. Mrs. Herbert Shepard and Ruth left for Washington to visit Harold, who departs for France Sept. 7.

South Acton residents share visits from Amesbury and Pennsylvania. Clara Clapp studio shifts as Gladys Lawrence prepares for fall teaching. Family trips included Rochester New Hampshire and York Beach Maine. Engagement announced between Evelyn Kimball and Otis Reed of Stoughton. Other moves involve Brookside Printing purchase and hometown travel with several relatives.
Mrs. Albin Johnson of Parker's Crossing suffered a severe accident at the B and M crossing on Concord street Maynard. She stopped to look both ways then the lower gate struck her face tearing her lip and chest. She was bruised and shocked, with skin torn on the forearm and hand.
A resident of Pa bought an auto hearse from the Meteo Funeral Car Co of Piqua two weeks ago and drove it home about 900 miles. The vehicle is described as one of the finest with up to date improvements and is the only auto hearse in the vicinity. Nearby cities Waltham and Clinton have the nearest units.
Florence Tittle, longtime supervisor at Thomas Normal School Detroit, has been named executive secretary of the College Settlements Association of the United States. The organization, based in Boston, tasks her with coordinating work with college girls nationwide.
Maynard Thomas Haliday of Wasealboro Maine visits friends in town. Miss Ruth French spends the week with relatives at Woonsocket Rhode Island. Patrice Higgins and Florence Wilder visit friends in Hudson Sunday. Mrs. C R Canfield weekends with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stockbridge Linden Street. Alex Sojansen, manager of the First National Cooperative store, operated on for appendicitis at Marlboro Hospital Thursday. Bilis Hayward of Somerville vacationing with Mrs. Mary Downey and family Parker Street. Miss Psa Malone spends weekend with parents Mr. and Mrs. Peter Malone Concord Street. Miss Grace Wilder on eight weeks vacation from Eaton's Market duties.

Irma Richardson and daughter spent days with Phin Coricord. Rev. Mr. Robertson preached at Acton Centre Baptist Church. John Brae Weaver and B. B. tb left for Nantasket Beach for dinner.
A severe electrical storm last week caused dark skies and frightful lightning. Tony Gan’s Whitcomb home suffered damage while Richard Barrows lost two insured horses in a Barn fire at Neer’s Pond. Electric and telephone service were out for several days as residents Frank Cutler Moody and Marion Moody traveled to York Beach, Maine.
