A 19 year old from Billerica, Thomas Lancaster, was injured when his car left Old Bedford road near Concord, hit a tree and utility pole, and ended in brush. His 1952 Chevrolet was towed. he was taken to Emerson Hospital for observation. Local police investigated the crash and emergency crews repaired the pole.
Concord's board of appeals will hold its August public hearing on Wednesday at 8 p.m. in the Town House court room. West Concord-Det and Mrs Edward Hodges once Betty Wright of Pasadena Texas with two children Eddie Jr and Dennea visit her parents Mr and Mrs Edward F Wright at 10 West Street. He has returned home and is assigned to the Houston police department. Mrs Hodges recovers from pneumonia and plans to fly home in about a week.
Lincoln State Police used radar on Route 2 in the flats near Lawson Farm on Tuesday and nabbed many motorists speeding. Some received warnings while others will get summonses for court appearances. The area has seen several fatalities in recent years.
Mr and Mrs Russell Halloran announce the birth of their second daughter Marjorie Lisa on August 10 at St Elizabeth's Hospital. Grandparents are Mr and Mrs James Halloran of Newton and Mr and Mrs John J Fitzpatrick of Concord. Mrs Halloran is the former Mary V Fitzpatrick.
University of Vermont nutritionist Anna Wilson says the dandelions are edible and should be cooked in boiling water for about an hour with a small piece of salt pork for flavor. The remark appears in Burlington in a Food For Thought feature.

A Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer at Fort Erie Ontario phoned him the next day asking why he did not call for help when he ran out of gas. Lovria replied that there aren’t any telephone booths out there in the lake.
