South Sudbury residents report health improvements and social visits while local families plan summer activities. A new home construction progresses and the Wadsworth schoolhouse gains a neat exterior finish. Memorial church funds a pipe organ with an August 29 indoor lawn party. An obituary recalls William Cote of Framingham, a longtime Sudbury telegraph operator. Col John D Billings organizes a Niagara Falls excursion leaving Boston August 30.
Maynard residents vacationing and visiting friends include Allie Peterson at Revere beach Mildred Randall in Boston and Watson Connors taking two weeks in Gardner Roy McCormick to fill his messenger post Miss Regan of Charlestown visits Miss Sweeney in Walcott Street Misses Stitt Mann Sow erbutts and others attend events. A field day brass band engagement at Concord Labor Day and a speaking campaign headquarter setup in Montpelier are noted. A painting contract for Central Prairie and Francis streets and a marriage at Help of Christians Church are recorded along with a social dance by Lawton's orchestra and a lost canary on Commonwealth avenue.

It mentions John Whitney family at Lake Baboosie and several guests at the Gile and Bartlett homes along Lexington road. The funeral of Miss Julia Helen Gilmore, who died at her Hubbardville home, was led by Rev. Smith Owen Dexter of Holy Trinity. The service was on Thursday after a Tuesday death, and the body was sent to North Charlestown, New Hampshire for burial. She was 79 and had lived with her sister Emily, 83, for years, with nephew Albert Neil managing the Hubbardville property. Surviving sisters include Mrs. Neil of Ackworth, New Hampshire.
Benjamin B Freeman died at his Lexington Road home on August 7. The private funeral was conducted by I P Sewell at his home on Friday at 2 30 with interment in Wellfleet. Freeman had lived in Concord for about years and illness in the past four years kept him from his jewelry business in Boston. Besides his wife he leaves two daughters.
