On Thursday August 17 merchants plan a Dollar Day with drastic price cuts and stock clearance. Stores will staff extra clerks to assist shoppers while specials cover a wide range of merchandise. Crowds are expected from nearby towns as buyers line the shopping district for the bargain carnival.
A semi annual meeting of the Riverside Cooperative Association was held Monday evening at Cooperative 1 with Albert Batley presiding. Officers reported six months of steady business and a 6 percent end-of-year trade. Riverside is noted as the oldest cooperative store in the area, dating to the town's early days. Albert Batley serves as president, Mark Newton as clerk, and directors include L. R. Cheney William H. Scully Gavin Taylor.
There was good attendance at a community concert benefiting the Mise Holteron erie care project. Notable attendees included Miss Mildred Mystery, Mrs. Fred Elser, Miss Marie Nelson, and Mrs. Waldo Stone. Auxiliary donated 50 dollars to the Hut at Groton.
Rogers Maynard spent August at Camp Abuaki Lake Champlain while Mrs. Ashael Elms enjoyed a New Hampshire vacation. The portion of Lizzie Good’s tenement is rented to a Wayland family in part of her house.
Eleven new retirees and visitors attended the County Aame Sectional Championship field day at Concord. Leslie R. Smith, director reclamation and survey, gave insightful talks on farming techniques, progress, and enthusiasm in local agriculture.
The C. M. and H. car, due in Concord at 2 30, left the rails under the Main Street overhead bridge and narrowly avoided a swamp collision. The motorman says he was moving slowly. the delay extended into the evening before the car could be rejoined to the tracks. No passengers were injured.

Lothrop is driving a new Puckard touring car.
Last Monday morning Abram Myette a gardener on Daniel G Wing estate Sudbury road lost four inches axe? No. a thumb from his right hand while operating the electric pump under his care. He was taken to Concord Deaconess hospital and is resting as comfortably as can be expected according to latest reports.
Bedford reports a fire department call last evening to extinguish a blaze in an Oakum touring car on Burlington road. Edward Hunnewell of Mainstreet bought a Buick. The Ranger Athletic lost to Concord 12 to 6 with batteries credited to Smith Kelley for Concord and Smith Warner and Holmes. Citations also note a postponed town game against Lincoln A C of Brighton and a local dance at Nuttings Lake. Additional attendance covered Lexington K of C versus Woburn A L with a 6 to 5 Tep nine win at Parker’s Page.
A sale notice lists a pair for 125 dollars and a late roll top Vim truck in good condition. Items include harnesses and farm wagons with a 30 days trial and viewing at a private residence 68 High Street Medford. Telephone 3189-W Mystic. William Haley Real Estate and Furniture.
Auctioneer John A Finigan advertises a closing out sale of tract land including 10 acres with a 12 room house and 18 acres vacant land with owner on premises for quick sale. A separate notice by Edward F Loughlin announces a mortgagee sale on August 16 1922 at 9 o'clock in the forenoon of a Maxwell truck at Macone garage Lowell Road Concord Nase.
On Thursday August 10 1922 at 1 30 P M a clearance leaf sale is held in Concord Massachusetts for M F Manning Maps Street. The notice invites readers to inspect and bid on household items and up housekeeping goods.
Miss Mabel Coonan of Worcester was a guest during the week of Miss Helen Coughlin of Summer Street. Miss Katherine Powers visited South Boston relatives for the week.
