Maynard ae John Trench visit Harrisville. Sadie Saari guest at Westboro. Roy Carmichael of Waltham visits here. Mr and Mrs James Priest return from wedding tour. Many locals reported visiting relatives, vacations at Nantasket Beach, and furloughs. Carpenters local admits five new members. Various household, travel, and work notes throughout the area.
Concord residents share vacation scenes and visits from Scituate to Maine. Newberry gatherings, theatre outings at Lexington park, and seaside trips to North Ave draw local chatter. Births, accidents, and a busy social calendar mark a lively week amid heat and summer travel.
Concord Junction residents share visits and vacations with friends in Nantasket Union and Worcester and Hopkinton. Locals travel to Jaffrey and Springfield for stays and employment. A horse owned by Kennan Damon died by strangulation due to a rope around its neck.
West Acton G P Littlefield and family visited relatives at Fairhaven last week. M B Dixon and family moved into the house vacated by Frank Chapman. Miss J Katherine Richardson spent several days with relatives at Hull George. Conant of North Shirley has taken possession of M B Dixon’s former place. Arthur Wetherbee substituting at C H Mead Co store during vacation. Hall Bros Co mill closed two afternoons due to heat. J Alfred Goding on two weeks vacation at O H Mead Co. Clifton Willis of Boston home on two weeks vacation from Edison Light Co. Mrs Joseph Gallant improved her home. George H Towne oversaw new additions. W O Strout of Maynard with two auto trucks moved Frank Chapine’s furniture to a new home at Franklin, N Y, Friday.
Mr and Mrs Charles Weaving of Boston spent Sunday with relatives here. Postmaster Coughlan announced a new outbound mail at 9 45 a m and an incoming at 12 38 noon. Frank Cratty of Rockville Conn and two navy seamen stationed at Kittery were weekend guests of Mr and Mrs William Scully Dartmouth. Robert Cleary recently enlisted and is stationed at Syracuse N Y. William Weir and Ernest Rosenmussen are in camp at Syracuse. A small blaze on Mill Street was extinguished by Chauffeur Tony Collins. Many residents visited Camp Devens Ayer on Sunday including Mr and Mrs William Errost and Mrs John Moale’s daughter.
