The Girls 10-15 team defeated West Concord 21-20 after a late win by Virginia Venti. A track meet saw Blues lead with Mulcahy scoring 16 and Reds with McDonough at 11, while Joey Manchuso won the 50 yard dash.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward F. Sheehan of 44 Central Street observed the seventh anniversary of their marriage last Sunday August 3. The couple, formerly Barbara G. Felt, were married in West Concord and have resided there since.

Governor Bradford named Loring R. Kew of Billerica as Middlesex County Sheriff to fill the vacancy after Sheriff Joseph M. McElroy’s death. Kew, former master of the Billerica House of Correction, has been acting sheriff pending confirmation by the Executive Council.
Funeral services for George J. Smith of Harvard Road Stow were conducted yesterday at the Fowler Funeral Parlor Maynard with a large turnout. Mr Smith, a longtime resident, retired in April from Middlesex Laundry Co Maynard. Bearers were Edward Stowe Basil Stowe Charles Carville and William Trumpett. Burial was at Brookside Cemetery Stow. A sister Mrs Eleanore DeLuca of Everett was omitted from the survivor list.
A requiem high mass for Harold J. Walker 53 of 2 Lowell road was held at St Bernard's church this morning at 9. Walker died suddenly Tuesday noon at Emerson Hospital. Burial was in Sleepy Hollow cemetery. He was born in Forest City Pennsylvania and lived here 11 years. He worked for LaHey Fargo Company Boston and was a World War I veteran. He is survived by his wife Virginia two sons John and James and two daughters Louise Pierre Houdry of Paris and Jean.
The Concord Miss Elmina Lersion Hospital submits a July statistical report showing 31 hospital days, 113 operations, 234 smear tests, 14 pathology exams, and 13 automobile accidents. Infants total 24 male admissions with 44 in-hospital occupants and 60 ward days. Daily averages showed 1947 patients, with 55 as the largest and 31 as the smallest ward totals, across both obstetrical and medical sections.
Members of the Hudson Rotary Club with guests attend a Fenway Park night game as the Boston Red Sox host the New York Yankees. They depart Main Street near Town Hall by chartered bus at 7 o'clock with Ernest J. Wetherbee as arrangements chairman.
The Lake Boon water carnival resumes Sunday at the Hudson beach near the roller rink under Gene DeVittorio. Open to eight to fourteen year olds, with prizes and a September 7 final. Previous winners include Robert McGinn Roxbury and Patsy Reilly Newton among others.
Miss Katherine Mary Kinsley led 35 Boston University Summer School students on a State House tour conducted by Dr Collier. The highlight was meeting Governor Bradford who greeted each student with a handshake and answered questions in the executive office.
After their wedding at Trinity Episcopal church last month, Mr and Mrs David Tyler MacLane will live in Concord. He will resume teaching duties at the Fenn School in town.
Troop 43 West Concord Boy Scouts meet Friday at 7 pm in the basement of Our Lady Help of Christians church rectory. Scout master Joseph Santora leads the meeting. Joseph A. Smith chairs the Troop Committee.
