Concord Ohio West Concord hosts a Thursday reception at 391 Main Street in honor of Lucien J Milot s parents celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. About 20 guests attended including Mr and Mrs L Milot of Lowell Sister Hugh of Montreal and numerous Milot relatives from Lowell Montreal Lincoln Rhode Island Beachmont Three Rivers and Three Rivers Quebec.
John Mazzeo 22 of West Concord suffered severe injury at the Allen Chair Company when a circular saw struck his left hand. He lost a finger and suffered multiple cuts but doctors expected to save the remaining fingers. Mazzeo, employed five years as a printer at the plant, faced a serious handicap in his jobs.
Marlboro police adopt a three foot markhing stick with a chalk holder on one end. The tool replaces the rough billy club for marking tires and not used to subdue prisoners.

Concord officer Frank P Sweeney of the State Police barracks at West Concord was seriously hurt Tuesday when a rear tire blew on his motorcycle near the Concord Police Station. He was thrown to the road, suffering multiple contusions to arms and legs, and hospitalized after a passerby transported him.
The 23rd annual Sheehan family reunion will be held Sunday August 6 at Acton town hall. Mrs. George M. Lee of Barrett's Mill Road West Concord is general chair, with Peter White Maynard and Mrs Peter White assisting. Middlesex County plans a 15 percent tax rate reduction for 1939, reducing the real estate levy from about 1.50 to 0.265 per thousand while delaying new road building for two years. The proposed budget, $327,102.64 below 1936, cites cost cuts in corrections and highway maintenance as key factors. Robert Antognoni won the boys division with 11 of 16 points, John McPhillips was runner-up with 10. Jacqueline Blanchard led the girls with 13 and Shirley Blanchard was second with 10. Appleby then gave 15 minutes of instruction to pupils.
