Robert A. Moore, aerographer’s mate third class USN, son of Bedford residents, returned to Boston aboard the icebreaker Edisto on April 21 after six months with Operation Deep Freeze. The ship helped break channels and transport supplies. a broken propeller January 19 paused operations. En route ports included Christchurch and Wellington New Zealand and Valparaiso Chile. The Edisto will stay in Boston for repairs until late June before resuming Arctic icebreaking duties.
Lincoln-Richard Tandy of the U S Navy is spending a 10 day furlough at Mrs Rebecca Burgesss home on South Great Road. He is stationed in San Diego California and was a Concord High School graduate last June. He has just completed boat training.
Miss Louise Brooks daughter of Mrs. John Lee Saltonstall and the late Thomas Brooks married Dominik Nicholas Patrick Lobkowicz son of Prince and Princess Lobkowicz at Trinity Episcopal Church Concord on April 21. Rev. William H. Clark officiated. A reception followed at the bride’s uncle Henry Howard Brooks home in Roxbury.
Local announcement confirms the engagement of Miss Helen Mey of East Lynn to Keith Alexander Rice son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard B. Rice of South Lincoln. Rice is a U S Army Guard veteran now attending Northeastern University. The couple plans a June wedding.
