Concord high school defeated Maynard 8 to 4 on the local ground Saturday afternoon. Concord scored four runs in the second inning to seize control while Maynard tallied four in the seventh. Billy Hopkins pitched seven innings for Concord allowing five hits in his first high school start. Captain Elmer Duggan pitched in the eighth, striking out five. Concord hitters collected 17 singles off Maynard pitching, with Mullany Flynn and Foley contributing three each. Maynard pitchers did not strike out any Concord hitters.
