Concords annual Patriot's Day parade will run today with traffic easing rules from 8 a.m. to noon. Police Chief James E. Finan Jr lists no parking on Stow Street playground side, Mill Dam and Monument Square, Monument Street Lang Street side, and on Liberty Street and Estabrook Road sections, urging use of municipal and DPW parking areas to avoid towings.
Annual holiday pancake breakfast at Monument Hall sponsored by Concord Lions runs from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proceeds aid Emerson Hospital building fund. Hy Bostrum serves as general chairman. Citizens urged to attend after the sunrise salute by Concord Battery.
Concord K of C held a spring communion breakfast with Fr. Stanley P. Marrow S J as guest speaker. He spoke on Conditions in the Far East after Mass. Present were Grand Knight Joseph O Malley Rt Rev John York and D D Matthew Hunt Arlington. A Patriots Day dinner in Boston Monday may include Congressman John W McCormack receiving the Lantern Award.
South Acton Mr and Mrs H W Flood and family at 183 Main Street host seven relatives from Baltimore Maryland visiting over the school vacation and Easter.
Acton celebrates Patriots Day with a 6 a.m. start at the Isaac Davis homestead on Maynard road. Rev Wootton offers invocation as Raymond Shamel welcomes participants. The day features flag raising, a musket shoot, speeches by Mrs Porter Jenks and Dr Francis C McDonald, a hike to Acton Center, and visits to Davis trail and Old North Bridge.
Concord contractor George Macomber 34 of 24 Monument street won his first national veterans championship to cap the season. A former member of two Olympic teams, he claimed the national veterans Slalom title at Arapahoe Basin Colorado and placed fourth in the downhill after a second in the giant slalom at Canon Mountain New Hampshire. He had been eligible for three years but this was his first veterans race. a youth injury history included broken legs before the 1948 and 1952 Olympics.
Police officer sergeant James Alexander found dense smoke in the new regional high school auditorium during Saturday patrol around 6:15 am. Firefighters responded and used ejectors as the cause was an oil burner backing up. Damage to walls ceilings and draperies was extensive.
The Concord Elks announce their next meeting will be Tuesday at the B. P. O. E. Hall with the new exalted Philip B. Dec. presiding.
Concord Patriots Day schedule spans Wednesday and Thursday with a concert and military ball at the state armory, a grand march, lighting at Mill Dam, bell ringing at Wright Tavern, sunrise salute at Old North Bridge, parade events, pancake breakfast, Luncheon at Colonial Inn, Bells Across the Nation, and an invitational track meet at Emerson Playground. Event times include 8 p m to 9 p m and late night activities leading to dawn.

A mid day fire at Lieut. Col. and Mrs. John T. MacLoughlin at 56 Summer Street caused 600 to 700 dollars damage. Chief H. Stuart McGregor said two young boys caused the blaze by careless smoking in a bedroom. Furniture, wall, floor and rug were damaged but the fire stayed contained.
William Wyman spoke at Concord Rotary Club about the Concord Housing Authority. He outlined problems in its first project building housing for the elderly and said plans to start construction are in progress.
Tickets sold at the door for Concord's Company D annual military ball starting Patriots Day eve at the state armory. Jimmie McHale's Orchestra will play with dancing to midnight. Capt. Raymond J. Garcia and his men host visiting officials and town officers.

The S. A. R. holds its 73rd annual gathering at Colonial Inn today on Patriot's Day. A 10 a.m. business meeting precedes a noon dinner at First Parish. Dr. Francis G. Walett of Worcester State College will speak on The Shot Heard Round the World a Continuing Inspiration.
A spring luncheon was held at the home of Mrs. Frederick H. Lovejoy on Nashawtuc road for the Farmington Alumnae Association of Boston. Attendees gathered Monday for the event hosted by Mrs. Lovejoy.

The Concord Antiquarian Museum opens its season with a tea served to all visitors. A new exhibit in Crane Room features children’s items and a bitton. Free admission for Com adult residents. other exhibits include silver collection and 18th century Oriental Ivories. Hours 10 am to 5 pm weekdays, 2 to 5 pm Sundays and holidays. April 19 to November 11.
Concord Firemen were called out three times from morning to Sunday morning. An oil burner blew at the Martin residence on Strawberry Hill Road and an electric motor at the Fahnestock residence on Nashawtuc Hill filled both homes with smoke. Sunday morning’s alarm at Emerson Hospital was for a gas stove that blew back while kitchen help was at work.
