The lift that collapsed last week nearly injuring Robert McHugh had a defective mechanism and was moved to Hunt-Pierce Corp. plant in Milford Conn. The firm promised full repairs and to indemnify the town for damages or injuries. The machine cost about $15000 a year ago.
Concord building activity fell in March with 16 permits totaling 36,970 dollars, including 25,000 dollars for new construction. In March 1961 permits reached 353,890 dollars with 236,400 dollars in new work. Lone new residence listed was Herbert G. McConchie on Lapham Road.
