May last Sunday saw a varied pageant presented at the Congregational Church with Rev. Mr. Vance directing. Next Sunday an encore is planned in Cliftondall with scenery and lighting by the production team including Rev and Mrs Matthew Lester and a quartet led by Archer and Cookes.
The article notes girls attending church for an assembly and evening service led by Rev Kepler. A thirty voice Lutheran choir under director Luikka performed. Shepler attends a Methodists conference at Winthrop, Em Taylor delegates, Naylor alternate. Adelphi Young Women and Mrs Rachel Barlow host meetings at the church.
Rehearsals for the May 3 and 4 production of The Pirates of Penzance proceed at Street Hall with regular cast and chorus. Preparations include staging effects and elaborate scenery as the show, performed by amateur artists, aims for high production quality led by Frances Perrin Ber i cord.

Funeral service for Mrs Mary E Cheney wife of Rev R Cheney of 14 Brooks street was held last Thursday with Rev Rex Shepler of the Methodist church officiating at home. Interment was in the family lot at Enwood cemetery. Survived by husband two sons Howard Worcester and Professor Ralph Cheney Brooklyn NY two daughters Mrs Albert C Mentzer Cambridge Mass and Mrs Andrew Van Ostrand Buffalo NY. The Cheneys were the first couple married in Maynard after incorporation. She was active in the Methodist church and known for her sympathy to those in sorrow.
Maynard Henry Jenks master of the State Grange will speak tonight at Middlesex Central Pomona in Maynard Grange hall. Delegates from eleven towns attend as guests of Maynard Grange. A supper is served by Mrs Margaret Whitney. Entertainers include Alan Palmer Mrs Adelaide Sims and Nina Ruble. A Legisla Night program on April 13 will be in charge of Leslie W Sims. Joseph Warner attorney general will be guest speaker. Natick and Sterling Granges invited to join.
Acton Juvenile Grange met at Town Hall on Tuesday afternoon March 28 to mark its first anniversary. Prizes were won by Dorothy Teel Bernice Livermore and Viola Pinoletto. A large birthday cake with one candle was enjoyed. Next meeting April 11 at 3 30 led by Sister Esther Durkee. Acton Grange to confer first and second degrees that evening.
Funeral services marked by simplicity were held Friday for Clarence Eli Wilson an electrical engineer and Quaker descendant. Cremation followed at his home on Garland Road with Rev. George Shuriow officiating. Ashes were moved to Lock Haven Pennsylvania for interment. he died March 27 after long illness.
The Concord Legion Band plans a concert and costume dance on Patriots Day Wednesday April 19 at Veterans Building. Proceeds fund the Concord unemployment fund and band uniforms with 25 percent donated to charity.
Town Clerk Frank E. Sanderson warns dog owners that licenses are due after the annual canvass of the Assessors. Delinquent owners will be notified to license or the dog officer will confiscate. Dogs three months and older must be licensed at any time. Get your licensed tag to keep your dog.
Corinthian Lodge A F and A M will meet in the Masonic Temple on Monday April 10 at 6 30. Wor Master Philip C Holden presiding. Supper at 7 under Mrs Duncan G Chapman direction. Officers of Isaac Parker Lodge Waltham will be guests of honor and conduct the ceremonial.

The program would allow trade of produce labor clothing food and more across Middlesex County with scrip valid at multiple stores and access to services including medical and dental care. The Maynard High School 1933 baseball schedule lists games from April 21 to June 6 with opponents including Winchester Belmont Marlboro Stoneham Lexington Reading Hudson and Concord. Veterans Pieciewicz Grondahl Pozerycki Duggan Castanza Lehto Priest Lent Colombo Creighton and James Murphy plus new players Wojtkiewicz Fraser O Donnell Liverman Smith Adams Jordan Jason and John Murphy are named.
The navy blimp J-3 sank while salvage off Beach Haven New Jersey as Akron wreckage reports surface. Only three Akron survivors remain amid a large-scale search. two bodies recovered from Akron, two from the J-3. An official inquiry will follow the disaster.
Mrs Lucy Orendorff widow of Joseph H Orendorff died Friday after a weeks long illness. Born in Westwood 74 years ago she was active in church music and social causes in Concord where she lived since 1894. She served as treasurer and clerk for local groups and was a member of the Concord Musical Club. Funeral services were held Sunday at her home with ministers Rev Edward Perry Daniels and Rev Johannes Faggin er Auer officiating. Cremation followed and ashes were interred in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. She leaves a daughter Mrs Theodore J Parry of Germantown Pa and a son Harold E Orendorff secretary of the Concord Board of Selectmen.
Marlboro resident Paul Bradford reported theft of an airplane magneto carburetor and tachometer from a aircraft stored in a garage near Marlboro Airport. Police are investigating the incident within a week.
Concord marks the seventy fifth birthday of Judge Prescott Keyes with gatherings at his home on March 2 and a prior observance by the Middlesex Mutual Fire Insurance Co. office staff. The celebration included a floral display, music by Marion Barer and Miss Doris Irrell, and a surprise desk set and fountain pen for the judge. Attending guests included Keyes family and local residents sharing the milestone with two birthday twins.
West Concord Mrs Ernest L Pringle president of the West Concord Woman's Club hosts at the Ye Olde Inn on Commonwealth Avenue Thursday. Luncheon featured dainty tables and prizes to Mrs Martin F Goodwin Mrs Wayne G Lawrence Mrs Alfred O Loring Mrs Leonard Benson and Mrs Arthur T Mulen. At a brief meeting a luncheon and fashion show for April 21 was approved with advance ticket sales at the April 7 meeting. The April 7 program changes to Dr Helen I D McGilli cuddy speaking on This New Freedom. A nominating committee will be appointed at Friday's meeting.

Alan Palmer will sing in a broadcast from Station WBSO at Wellsley Thursday afternoon at 12 45. Mr Palmer appeared on the same station last Thursday to the delight of local friends. Florence Seder of the high school faculty also fronts popular WBSO broadcasts.

East Cambridge Court House Patrolman Ernest Rasmussen stands trial in Superior Court before Judge Walter Collins and a jury for a serious offense involving his 13 year old step-daughter.
