The Bedford Veterans Hospital will be completed and ready for patients in late June per Dr. Edgar Crossman. Brig. Gen. Frank Hines plans to close West Roxbury hospital for veterans and return it to Boston. Town Sells Old Hearse After Auction Bid
In Sudbury on April 4 the town meeting voted to dispose of an aging hearse to clear space in the hearse house. The Baldwin auction offered the relic. a bidder aimed at one dollar, but Chairman Fairbanks bid 1.25 and won. Roof Staging Collapse Injures Worker in Maynaty
Four carpenters on a ladderless roof at Alfred E Mt Cleary home on Lincoln Street near the neck of the roof fell to ground Friday morning. John Johnson of 144 Great Road suffered fractures of both legs and back injuries. he was taken to Enerson hospital for treatment. Bail Ryan, the attending physician, reported Johnson was under observation. The other workers were slightly injured but continued their task after Johnson was cared for.
