New Jersey Votes Against Woman Suffrage Statewide

New Jersey voters rejected the constitutional amendment to enfranchise women by a statewide margin of about 50 000 to 60 000. Unofficial returns show 88 275 for and 124 119 against in 1 222 of 1 891 districts, with big cities lending strong opposition though some areas were closer.
