Johnson City War Fund Seeks Hundred Local Members

Local Red Cross War Fund in Johnson City names Lee F Miller as Chairman and lists a Campaign Executive Secretary Win J Mathes and a 100 member committee to meet May 4 at seven in the Chamber of Commerce room. The plan divides members into ten squads with named captains and teams, plus separate committees for solicitation and neighborhood drives.

English Greet Our Boys as Brothers Parade in London

Three thousand American soldiers marching through London drawn from the new National Army were cheered as friends and brothers by crowds. King George V and Queen Mary greeted the troops at Buckingham Palace while Premier Lloyd George and the war cabinet watched. Presents Sheep Give Wool for Red Cross

Washington May 17 Ninety pounds of wool clipped from the President's sheep near the White House town will be auctioned with proceeds added to the second Red Cross war fund. Red Cross officials plan to divide the wool into two pound packages and send each state to auction. The governors of the states will likely be asked to act as auctioneers.
