Mrs Mary McCurdy Dies After Illness in Newberg Community
Mrs Mary L McCurdy born March 1 1852 in DeKalb Alabama died Saturday at home after long illness. She married C C McCurdy and moved to Texas after their union. Survived by twelve children Nannie Allen Homer Fraiser Low More Fruma Johnson Wille Johnson Julia Cozart J W Freed J 4 and Natt McCurdy. two children C P and Addie McCurdy predeceased her. Also 31 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She joined the Baptist church in girlhood and lived a devout Christian life. Funeral Sunday at Newbury Baptist Church conducted by Dr Forrest Maddox. Burial in Albin Cemetery.

Comanche and Gustine Band Tour for County Fair
A party of about forty five from Comanche including band members toured Gustine and surrounding towns on Tuesday promoting the Comanche County Fair and Gustine Community Fair. They performed band concerts at Gustine Lamkin Carlton Dublin Proctor and Hasse, shared a generous grove dinner near Lamkin, and received cordial welcomes and compliments at each stop.

Neighbors found W W Tannehill dead at his frame residence east of the post office. Inquest ruled death due to heat from natural causes. Tannehill born October 17, 1849 in Alabama, lived in Texas since infancy. Funeral held at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev N P Wilkerson.
