Harris Rating System elevates Comanche from ninth to second in Class AA after a 35 0 win over Granbury. Indians earn 131 3 playing strength while De Leon stays ranked second in Class A at 122 9. Harris predicts Comanche will beat De Leon by nine points.
The Comanche County Fair organizers outlined plans for the November 6 7 and 8 event. Entertainment includes Johnny Duncan on Friday and the Fair Queen coronation on Thursday. Booths number 40 at 16 dollars each with various food and exhibit setups.
No. 2 AAA county rivals Comanche Indians travel to De Leon to clash with the Bearcats at 8:00 p.m. Friday. De Leon, ranked high in Harris, Texas Football, and AP polls, returns seven offensive and eight defensive regulars from a 10-2 season. Coach Fred West leads a balanced, tough squad led by quarterback Craig Smith and a strong defensive line. Comanche defeated Granbury 35-0 last Friday as injury updates note Holland remains out with a broken arm. last season’s meeting ended 33-6 in favor of De Leon.
Rhonda Cox wins first place $8 in the Comanche Chief football contest totaling strong scores with no misses. Suzanne Pyburn takes $3 for second while Spencer Key earns $2 for third. multiple others receive honorable mention for missing only one game.
Adult classes will be offered in Comanche with registration on Wednesday night September 10 at 7 o clock in the Junior High School. Ranger Junior College business office staff will assist and answer questions. A minimum of ten students required per class with courses in English History Math Government and Clerical Accounting sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce.
Hopefuls age 8 to 13 can enter the Punt Pass and Kick program at Clemons Motor Co. with no fee, parent consent, or equipment. National drive by NFL sponsors has drawn vast youth interest. local winners advance to Zone competition. Registration closes October 3, 1975 with local event on October 4, 1975. David Robinson is the local PP&K coordinator.
Comanche will host De Leon in a three game night featuring seventh eighth and B-Team in the season openers. The seventh graders and eighth graders both open their seasons after a 0-6 loss to Granbury last week.
The Comanche Freshmen travel to Brownwood to face the Brownwood Freshmen at 7 30 p m. They open the season with a 14 12 win over Granbury last Thursday.
