Colonel James Williford, son of Mr and Mrs Jim Williford of Comanche Route 1, is named commander of the U S Army Air Force Seventh Bomb Group in India. Recently promoted from lieutenant colonel, he has served as deputy commander and led the China detachment in January before succeeding Col Howard F Bronson. Pat Tupin Receives Honorable Discharge After War Service
Pat Tupin is back in Comanche after 33 months in the Army, including 28 months overseas. He earned five battle stars from campaigns in North Africa, Italy, Austria, and the invasion of Germany. The discharged sergeant received his honor able discharge at Fort Sam Houston and rests at his mother's home before returning to work as a mechanic. His wife, the former Connie Allen, worked in Fort Worth during his overseas service and now accompanies him in Comanche.
