The Comanche chamber of commerce board appointed three new directors in October to fill unexpired terms. Dr. Richard H. Turner and Mrs. Maxene Mazurek replace Gyale Pirkle and Ray Rankin. Fire levels Gustine home in noon blaze
A Tuesday noon fire destroyed a Gustine residence and most of the occupants' household goods and clothing. The house owned by Chaurlie Massingill was occupied by the J. W. Hur Jr. family. Gustine and Comanche Volunteer Fire Departments answered the call.

Pair Charged With Kidnap and Robbery in Comanche County
Two men, Peacio Pearl Rodriguez 49 and Danill M Morin 28, are charged with kidnapping and aggravated robbery after allegedly abducting Juan Flores a Mexican laborer from a Newbury Community ranch house Saturday night. Flores said he was forced at kn ife point to reveal $1,100 and to accompany the pair to Lampasas where they bought items before police apprehended them. Bail set at 25,000 on each charge totaling 50,000 per suspect. Police recovered 1,032 in cash and a pistol during arrests.

Thieves Cart Off Material From Comanche Truss Building Firm
Thieves stole building materials valued over 700 dollars from Donaldson Millsap Mfg on Industrial Blvd. Police Chief Charles Anders said entry was gained by breaking a gate chain and a pickup truck tire rack route allowed access and exit. Stolen items included nineteen 2x6s 28s, 2x4s, 28 sheets of 6-inch plywood, and three rolls of felt paper.
